The Story of Custom Creations x Chili

CustomCreationsxChili is a team of 1. Every item is made by hand, by me (Chili). I do my best to deliver a product as close to perfect as possible.

I first discovered a love for crafting in elementary school, and since I have tried a variety of ways to create! I have tried my hand at knitting, sewing, tumblers, signs, custom Christmas decorations, labels, business cards, wedding invitations, polymer clay sculptures, embroidery, custom shirts, cards, and the list honestly goes on. That’s why I don’t have just one type of item to offer.

I love a challenge and an opportunity to be creative. I enjoy learning and trying new things. I am self-taught and I learn a lot of things through trial and error. However, you can rest assured that I would not sell you something I would not buy myself. I hold myself to a high standard for quality, to the point that some would call it “perfectionism.” However, I also try to set realistic expectations for myself, and weigh all project ideas thoroughly to ensure that I can complete it before I commit to the project. I don’t want to disappoint you, but I also won’t sell you a dream I cannot deliver. So let’s discuss your ideas and see if I can bring your imagination to life!

The Woman Behind the Crafts

I am also a Sickle Cell survivor (cured by bone marrow transplant in 2024) and advocate. I am passionate about sickle cell research and advocating for the the improvement of the lives of those living with sickle cell disease.

Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that results from a mutation in the hemoglobin gene. As a result, individuals living with sickle cell disease produce sickle shaped red blood cells that get stuck on themselves and cause “traffic jams” in the blood vessels. These jams are extremely painful and disruptive to every day life. Not only do these poorly shaped cells cause pain, but they carry less oxygen than a normal cell and can cause organ damage.

Currently, there is not a universal cure for sickle cell, but the research continues.
